| A & W www | Hamburgers | Fast Food | This was Grant's first experience of fast food back in the time when servers on roller skates put trays on your car windowsill. We still like to go back for the sake of nostalgia, but unfortunately the fries and onion rings are bland and the burgers are OK, but only in a 1950's sort of way. | They are just about everywhere. | A Touch of Ginger Delight www | Vietnamese | Informal | This has been a popular lunch stop for many who work in the Sunridge Mall area for years. Dorothy likes it for the low prices, and Grant says the food is tasty, so both sides of the equation are met. They specialize in both Vietnamese and Thai food, though the majority of dishes are Vietnamese. Good vegetarian selection. | 318 - 10 St. NW 403 270-3816 | 3449A - 26 Ave. NE

| Aida's Mediterranean Lebanese Specialties | Middle Eastern | Informal | For good Middle Eastern food and excellent service on the Fourth Street strip, this is the place. Good vegetarian selection. | 2208 - 4 St SW 403 541-1189 | |||||||
| Alloy www | Gourmet | Informal | One of our favourite parts of going to Alloy is driving our friends into the light industrial area of southeast Calgary (just off McLeod Trail) to find a first class restaurant. But suddenly there it is. The setting is fresh. And if you aren't sure what we mean by that, go there to find out. The food is excellent, with sauces that don't overwhelm what they are complimenting. And the servers don't start putting pepper and salt on the food before you have even tried it. We do suspect that this habit in so many restaurants means the chefs don't really know how to season food properly in the first place. Click here to make reservations through Open Table. |

| Angel and Crown | Bar | Informal | Simply put, the food was horrible. For example, we had fish and chips with the skin and bones included at no extra charge. That would have made it a 1 glass restaurant. However, the culinary insult was compounded by a rude manager who actually walked away from us in the middle of a discussion. Support us by not eating here. |

| Anpurna Curry Pot www | East Indian | Informal | For quality, service and vegetarian dishes at reasonable prices, this restaurant is hard to beat. Reservations recommended. Of course, there's a good vegetarian selection; this is a vegetarian restuarant. |

| Antonio's Garlic Clove www | Rating for Vampires: 0 | Gourmet | Informal | Don't make that face! Garlic can be cooked and eaten in many ways, and Tony has mastered them all, including fried bananas with garlic topping and chocolate covered roasted garlic buds for dessert. The setting is comfy bistro. The service is friendly, and the servings are large. What more could one want? Breath mints! And if you are worried about what others may say, just order a half portion or ask for less garlic. Reservations recommended. | 2206 - 4 St. SW 403 228-0866 | Su to M 5:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Tu to Th 5:30 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. F to Sa 5:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. | |||||
| Avenue Deli www | Deli | Informal | The Avenue Deli began as a sister of the Palace of Eats and carries on the fine tradition now that it is on its own. This is our neighbourhood Montreal smoked meat place, though it has expanded into sandwiches of various kinds, soups and even catering if want to share the experience with friends. And Grant is always ready for a good real milkshake to finish off the meal. | Avenue Deli 33 Ave. & 19 St. SW Su 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. M - Sa 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. | |||||||
| Avenue Diner www | Diner | Informal | Here we have upscale dinering on the downtown restaurant strip. The prices. however, remain in the diner bracket, and the portions are as they should be—truck-driver breakfast size. Though the food quality seems to have dropped a little recently.
