Diner Deluxe		Diner	Informal	The emphasis is on the "Deluxe" here with top quality ingredients, and little special additions, like yam bits in the hash browns. Do be prepared for a wait at peak hours, but there's plenty of good coffee available and just watching the activity in the place is a show in itself. After 11 the menu expands beyond the usual breakfast specials to include salads, sandwiches, and old favourites like macaroni and cheese and meatloaf. Galaxie Diner		Diner	Informal	Here was a restaurant that saw a split in the vote between Grant and Dorothy. Dorothy thought the hashbrowns were a bit salty and found the coffee strong. Grant downed the coffee and had helping after helping of the hashbrown refills. Then there was a debate as to whether it was on the 17 Ave. strip--It is just south of 17th.-- or whether it should be under the downtown listings. So here is the final decision: This downtown, breakfast-all-day type diner provides just what it promises-- good old-fashioned breakfasts, burgers, sandwiches and home made milkshakes. Some will like it more than others, but that is always the case. Joe Btfsplk's Diner		Diner	Informal	Here is a long-time Banff restaurant that harkens back to the days of chrome and jukeboxes. The name will be familiar only to those who were brought up with the "L'il Abner" comic strip, but that's good because they remember real diners too. The meal began with great promise with a friendly staff and an old fashioned milk shake that took Grant back to his childhood. Unfortunately what came next were bland burgers in buns that were too small and too weak for the patties inside and fries that were frozen.
