Sometimes you feel trapped in the city and need that short jaunt out into the wild unknown to feel free. Here it is: Aspen Crossing. There is a gift store, a garden shop, a camp ground, a space for catered events, some farm animals, and even a caboose you can rent by the night. But the heart of the enterprise is the 1887 Pullman car once used by Prime Minister John Diefenbaker. Now this is a restaurant for people like you and me. We have only tried the lunch, and found the experience enjoyable. But the food was predictable and average. Reservations recommended, as this is a long way to travel to find out the place is full.
