Sadly in the past, we have found that most teahouses in Calgary seem to specialize in good quality, but rather bland teas. Now enter Gong Cha. Here, as its name says in Chinese, is "high quality tea". There’s a good variety of drinks all zipped up in one way or another. You can go from Earl Grey Milk Tea with 3J (3 jellies), to Milk Foam Black Forest, to Taro Milk Tea with Red Bean. And, of course, you can always add bubbles. (What? Try them and see.) There are also smoothies for non-tea-ites. However, this is not really a location for hot plain tea in a cup. You can make that at home.

Note: If you have friends or small family members who are difficult to entertain, this is the place to take them. We got Grant a Panda Milk Foam Tea with bubbles added, and after he finished the tea, he was mesmerized for a good hour, while everyone else was shopping, trying with his straw to suck up the bubbles and left over cream from among the ice chips (optional) in the cup. Thus, we were able to leave him quite safely without adult supervision.
