With everything from burgers and sandwiches to steaks and beef vindaloo on the menu, restaurants like Moxies—and we really do want to put an apostrophe in this name—are difficult to grade. Too often one or two superb items (e.g. the Boston clam chowder) are dragged down by numerous bland ones. However, we acknowledge that Moxies has put a lot of effort into upgrading their food over the last few years. In fact, this is considered a “new” review as their score has risen over past visits.
Note: We did, however, have to discipline ourselves to give a fair review while eating at the Sandman location downtown because of the parking situation. They were charging an evening fee of $8.88 in the underground parking lot. When we discovered this, we made the effort and moved our car onto the street where we paid $0.00. This is not the way one wants to begin one’s meal, especially as the staff seemed to know nothing about the parking situation, even suggesting that their was a machine in the basement which would give us a better rate. There wasn’t.
Good vegetarian selection.
