So our first concern was, "What is this place?” To the locals it’s simply “the coffeehouse on the corner". But the menu style, especially in the evening, says “restaurant". So we put it in both categories. And you can carry on this discussion during your visit. Then “Where is this place?” It’s actually on 14 St. SW, but has been adopted by the residents of Marda Loop as theirs. So, again, you can make the final decision, and look upon it as you wish.
The coffee is excellent, and the menu contains enough standard and innovative dishe— far beyond the usual coffee shop selections—to suit any taste.
And do no overlook the market with many ready-to-eat items and canned and bottled goods that are low in additives and high in flavour.
Good vegetarian, gluten free and dairy free selection.

At first this struck a rather unfriendly chord with us. But then we realized that the restaurant side of things would be ruined by people coming in at busy times, ordering a small coffee, and sitting down at a table for four to play "Call of Duty" for two hours. That’s a lot of income lost.

I really like that place. Maggie
